Brian Enever nominated Sheila Fletcher. He said, “Sheila Fletcher is a stalwart in the village of Brinsley. She was a carer in a nursing home until she retired. She cared for my mother-in-law who was 90 years old and bed ridden."

Brian continued, “Then she would come back at night to cream her feet and make sure she was ready for bed, 7 days a week rain, hail or shine. If it was not for her, family members would have had to pack in work to care for her. Also, people in the village would ask her to pop round and look after elderly relatives when they went away on holiday. She did this for free out of the goodness of her heart as she is a loving and caring person. Every village should have a Sheila.

Also, Sheila and her husband put on a wonderfully garden arrangement and people love to walk pass their house and admire the many different kind of plants. They do this for the benefit of young and old people in this village. I would like to see her rewarded for all the work and effort she selflessly puts in for the residents of Brinsley.”

In addition to giving Sheila a certificate, NottsWatch awarded Sheila with a beautiful engraved award.
