Nottinghamshire Neighbourhood Watch, trademarked and known as NottsWatch®, held it’s AGM at Dunkirk Community Centre yesterday. Rather than the usual combined Conference/AGM the team decided to host an ambititious full day Common Ground Conference in the summer and a low key, informal AGM in the autumn.

Eighteen people attended (seven apologies and three no shows) and all agreed that it was a good opportunity to find out more about what NottsWatch is and what we do. I was pleased, when speaking to the Beat Officer for Rushcliffe who came prepared with a list of questions, to find out that I had already answered all of these in my report! I also showed a PowerPoint covering the highlights.

AGM Sue

Paul Macey, our Vice Chair, kicked off proceedings and Mike Douglas, another of our trustees, thanked Lianne Taylor for her huge influence in introducing new ways of working and wished her well as she steps down as a trustee and welcomed our new trustee, Professor Richard Wilson. Dick has worked with his Beat Officer on local issues and now looks forward to learning more about NottsWatch.

After the structured part of the afternoon we all enjoyed a cuppa, cake and lots of useful discussions and exchanging of contact details.

I have uploaded the Minutes to our About Us > Annual general Meeting page.

Thanks all for your encouraging comments. I found it substantially less work and more enjoyable than our elaborate, expensive conferences.
