Meadows and Clifton Policing Inspector

MeadowsandClifton Inspector

My name is James Walker.

My name is James Walker and I am the Neighbourhood Inspector responsible for local policing in the City South area, covering Clifton, Mapperley, Meadows, Sneinton and Dales, St Ann's and The Wells areas.

I joined Nottinghamshire Police in 2003 and my first posting was at Mansfield as a beat officer for Ladybrook and Broomhill. I subsequently worked on response and pro-active teams in Mansfield before being promoted to Sergeant and moving to the City in 2007 where I was based at Radford Road on response.

I spent a year on response in the City before undertaking a short spell on the Beat Team at Radford Road as part of a pro-active operation covering the Radford and Canning areas. In 2009 I joined the Divisional Support Unit whose responsibilities included searches, execution of warrants, pro-active policing and public order.

In 2012 I became the Temporary Inspector on a response team covering the City conurbation and I remained in this role for 2 years. I then spent a short time on an IT project which involved consolidating existing systems into a single programme before undertaking a 2 year secondment to the Home Office supporting police forces with their radio communications. During this period I was promoted to substantive Inspector and in April 2018 I was given the role of City South Neighbourhood policing Inspector.

This is very much a role I am looking forward to and I am keen to work with our partners to tackle those issues which are important to our communities.
