Mansfield Policing Inspector

Mansfield Inspector

My name is Inspector Nick Butler and I am the neighbourhood policing inspector responsible for local policing in Mansfield District.

I joined Nottinghamshire Police in 1992, serving in the Sutton-in-Ashfield area for a number of years.

I specialised in various CID and intelligence roles, tackling burglars and drug dealers, before working for a time as the force lead for problem solving and was commended as Problem Solver of the Year.

I was also the Neighbourhood Policing Project Manager, based at our headquarters, near Arnold, Nottingham.

In September 2010, I returned to the Ashfield area as the Neighbourhood Policing Inspector.

In that time, we have launched the Street Pastors scheme in Hucknall. They have been very well received by the local community and help to get people home safely from a night out and signpost others into support for drugs and alcohol issues.

In February 2016 I became Inspector for Mansfield.
