Job roles include:

• Accurately minute meetings, in a format agreed between the job holder and the Chair, and
circulate the draft minutes to committee members for their approval.
• Liaise with committee members to update Board regarding agreed action(s).

Additional/optional responsibilities:

• Ensure up-to-date records are kept of committee membership.
• Liaise with the Chair who will produce the meeting agendas.
• Circulate agendas and any supporting papers in good time.
• Receive agenda items from other committee members.
• Check that quorum is present.
• Ensure that the chair signs the minutes once they have been approved.
• Circulate agendas and minutes of the annual general meeting (AGM).

What Skills will I need?

• Access to a computer/laptop with internet access.
• Well organised and an eye for detail.
• Good time-keeping.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Impartiality, fairness and the ability to respect confidences.
• Experience of committee work and procedures, useful, but not essential.
• Minute-taking experience preferred, but not essential, but ability to precis written communication is important.

Time Commitment: The role of Secretary requires an estimated commitment of approximately seven hours per quarter. Attendance at review meetings is important. Review meetings are held quarterly on the first Friday afternoon of April, July, October, and January, at Dunkirk Community Centre, NG7 2JW.  Transport costs will be reimbursed.
